Mehndi Henna Art is a type of temporary body decoration using a paste called Henna. It is made from a plant called the Lawsonia inermis (Henna plant) and is prepared into a cone shaped tool enabling the Mehndi artist to create beautiful detailed body artwork. The paste is applied wet, this then dries and flakes off, this leaves an orange stain which then turns to a maroon/dark brown colour leaving the artwork that was first applied. The Henna paste creates a stain on the top layer of the skin. It dates back well over 5,000 years and is said to originate from Ancient Egypt. It is widely used South Asia, North Africa, East Africa and the Middle East but due to its beauty this form of body art is quickly becoming popular all over the world. Henna Art is used in many traditions/rituals such as Hindu and Muslim weddings, Eid and festivals. Mehndi is from the Sanskrit word 'Mendhika' which refers to a plant that releases red dye. The Mehndi designs are traditionally in the shapes of vines, mandalas, lace and flowers and is mostly created on the hands and feet but as its popularity is spreading over other cultures and countries people are having this stunning artwork on all different places of the body. Mehndi Henna Art is also beginning to be known as Henna Tattoos but this is not the correct term. This beautiful form of art symbolises joy, beauty, spiritual awakening, good luck, good health, positive spirits and offering. Mehndi Henna Art usually lasts between 2-3 weeks. This is a temporary form of body art and will fade. It is an all natural product meaning there are very rarely any issues with irritation from the paste although at Bliss we do prefer to do a patch test to be on the safe side. There have been reported incidents regarding Henna when a black dye is used which contains Paraphenylenediamine (PPD). We DO NOT use black Henna due to how dangerous it is. The Henna paste we use is made of all natural ingredients which are Henna leaves, eucalyptus oil, clove oil and water At Bliss we are a Spiritual practice and being able to offer an art form with so much beautiful and Spiritual history is something really special to us. We do require people to come in for a patch test to be on the safe side and then we can offer you our stunning Mehndi Henna Body Art with Virgo Henna.
Bliss Holistic Healing & Virgo Henna xx Since I had my Spiritual Awakening a couple of years ago, and along with my Mediumship I had the urge and the interest to study the art of Tarot. Now, I am going to be completely honest and say that I did not expect it to be so complicated. It is not just about simply picking a card and reading out the meaning, it goes way waaaaaay deeper than that. Tarot is heavily based on Psychology and has the power to change a persons mindset, beliefs and wisdom. It can bring a huge amount of comfort and advice when dealing with the obstacles that life throws in our way.. and personally I think that whether you believe in the spirit world or not, we can all benefit from a Tarot reading every so often. First I think we should start with a little bit of a background on the wonderful world of Tarot. (I can only do a vague outline on this because there is just too much history behind it) So whilst nothing is set in stone about where it all began, there are of course many theories, but the main country which people believe it to have started in is Egypt. In Egyptian ‘Tar’ means Royal and ‘Ro’ means Road. They merged imagery with symbols and it is thought that when the Romani Gypsies travelled overseas, they carried Tarot reading over with them across the world during trading. The cards arrived in Europe, Italy to be precise. The Italians contributed to the make up of the deck and most of the terms used in the cards are of Italian origin. The people of Italy were known to play with a set of custom made cards that were used purely for entertainment. The cards then made their way over the rest of Europe. Tarot decks started to be developed from 1410 and by 1440 the Italians had influenced the deck to be the one we use today. No one actually knows when Tarot started to be practised for Spiritual divination but it was unfortunately seen as a bad thing in and around 1450. The first public opinion of Tarot cards were said to have been used as a tool by the devil to steal souls of people. (oops) The traditional Rider Waite Tarot cards that are still used today were published in 1910. Even though this is known as the original, traditional and most popular version of the deck, there have been many variations over the years giving Tarot a modernised look and feel to the cards. Obviously some Tarot readers believe that the Rider Waite deck should be the only one used whilst others have gone with a deck of cards that they felt drawn to and comfortable with. A Psychic/Medium uses the cards to connect with either the clients spirit/spirit guides, or with their own in order to give a reading. The energy from the Psychic reader goes into the cards as they are shuffled, dealt and spread. Some Tarot readers prefer to do all of this themselves and others prefer to ask the client to shuffle or cut the cards in order to add their own energy into the mix. I prefer to use this method so that the client has some kind of input. It is believed that spirit then guide the Psychic to pick the correct cards which are relating to the client in order to give them insight, influence and knowledge into their life. So here is my way.. I let the client shuffle the cards, I then do a second shuffle, I cut the cards into three piles, bring them altogether as one pile again, then fan them out. The next step is to work my way looking over all of the cards until I am suddenly drawn to pick one. Another way I use is to again do the shuffling, cut into three piles and then choose the top card from each pile giving a past, present and future reading. There are soooo many ways of laying out the cards (which are called spreads) You may have heard of spreads such at the Celtic Cross, Star Guide, Tree Of Life, Chakra and many more. At the moment I am still learning so the more complicated spreads are to be mastered over time. After the cards are dealt, the psychic then uses both spirit and their own intuition to read the cards. Now maybe you are under the impression that you simply pick a card and read out the meaning from a book but this most certainly is not the case. Whilst the cards do have certain meanings, they are only there as a guideline. The reading of Tarot cards relies heavily upon the person doing the reading by connecting with spirit, a higher level of intuition and the energy from the client to interpret the cards. A card that has been dealt for one client can mean something completely different when reading for another. Interpretations can also change when looking at what cards have been dealt alongside and whether the card has fallen in a reversed or upright position (if it is upside down or not) Not every Tarot reader uses reversals..but I do. Ok so the last thing I will tell you about is the deck of cards I use for my readings, which is the ‘Crystal Visions Tarot’ deck by Jennifer Galasso. These beautifully illustrated cards have been the only deck I have been drawn to and for a Tarot reader this is extremely important. The connection between reader and cards is a very special bond. To some people that may sound a little odd but it is true! Since starting my study of the Tarot I have tried using other decks but have found it impossible. I am always drawn back to the ‘Crystal Visions Tarot’ and realised that these cards are the only ones for me. (my one and only true love in the world of Tarot) The Crystal Visions Tarot is one of the most popular around and even though I fell in love with these cards from the moment I laid eyes on them, my connection with this deck goes a little deeper. The cards themselves are available in the UK which come with a little leaflet, but the actual full sized ‘Guide To The Crystal Visions Tarot’ is not. I searched everywhere with no luck and decided to send an email on the https://www.jennifergalasso.com/CVT/ official website to see if they could point me in the right direction. Now I was expecting to get a response from a general customer service rep or something, but I was so excited after getting a direct response from Jennifer Galasso herself in the US, who said she would personally send me out a book. I was absolutely over the moon when my book arrived both signed and with a lovely note from Jennifer. The other surprise that came was when she told me that her book was dedicated to Samantha (her daughter) I don’t believe in meaningless coincidences so took this as a final sign that this deck was made for me! So now you have a bit of background into the beautiful art of Tarot, an insight of how it works and some information about the deck I use for my readings, how and why. I am a certified Tarot reader, now listed on Jennifer Galasso’s website as a blogger which I am extremely proud of! I am not comfortable in giving readings out professionally yet but who knows, I might add it to Bliss Healing's therapies list at some point.
Thank you for reading, Love Sam xx A couple of years ago, I realised that I have the gift of connecting to and receiving messages from spirit. I always wanted to believe that there was something more to life than what meets the human eye but I don’t think you can get proof unless you are able to experience the paranormal for yourself. I’ve always had a fascination with the unexplained and remember my grandmother telling me all about her experiences. It turns out that her dad (my great grandfather) was a well known Psychic Medium in his day so had a feeling that something must have been passed through the family, but when I realised that I could actually speak with the spirit world for myself…it all became a whole lot more interesting! It all started after I went through some really awful trauma, the worst kind of heartbreak I have ever known. It opened up something in me that changed my whole perception on myself and on life, it completely flipped my old Atheist ways upside down to give me different views on the world. After finding my new self I decided to learn how to meditate, I needed a way to help clear my mind and surprisingly by doing this I opened up my senses to realise that I am clairaudient, clairsentient and clairvoyant. I have to admit it was probably the freakiest time of my life. I had somehow opened up this gateway to another world and there was no going back. My ears were popping and ringing from tuning into a higher frequency, everything seemed louder, I had intense headaches and then suddenly I was hearing a voice in my head. Honestly I thought I was having some kind of breakdown and needed to see a psychiatrist, but then I realised that this voice wasn’t nasty, it wasn’t telling me to do strange or bad things..it was just there! So I decided to talk to it, (as you do) the only way I can describe the experience is when you are having thoughts in your head, but for me there was someone else’s thoughts there too. So after a couple of weird chats going back and forth, I was then shown an image of a woman. Here’s how this works… I am going to say to you ‘think of a red balloon’ So now you have an image of a red balloon in your head right?. This is exactly how it works for me but spirit are putting the image there for me instead. (It is so hard to explain what it feels like if you have not experienced it for yourself). So with this image and a conversation which took place entirely in my head, I somehow worked out that the person I was talking to, was a 40 year old Greek woman named Anastasia (who I now know as my main spirit guide). Each time I get information through about something I will then do a Google search to check if it is correct, so I did a search to find out the origin of the name Anastasia because the only one I had ever heard of was the singer, and sure enough it is a Greek name. Still at this point I was wondering if I was losing my mind or not but then things got weirder.. One afternoon a friend of mine (Paula) came round for a brew. (if you are not from the UK, this means having a good old cup of tea or coffee). Her mum had sadly passed away a few months earlier and as we were sat there having a general chit chat about the bores of everyday life, my head started to feel like it was being squashed. I zoned out, everything went fuzzy and it felt like there was an enormous amount of pressure on my head. All of a sudden I thought ‘Mary is here’ (Paula’s mum) I didn’t say anything but I was so freaked out that I suddenly told my friend I needed to go out. I hurried Paula out of the door and was left wondering what the hell had just happened, turns out Mary had popped by for a visit. After that day, all kinds of weird and wonderful things started happening and are still happening. Since my first conversation with Anastasia, I have kept a diary which has all of my predictions and messages from spirit in. I can’t go through the diary and tell you everything that has happened because there is so much, but I can give a couple of examples. Rick’s (my partner) Aunty Irene was ill and during 2018 she was gradually getting worse. Through September I was given the message that she was going to pass on right before Christmas. I really hoped that I was wrong but I told my partner anyway. The week before Christmas came and I thought ‘thank god I got that wrong’ Unfortunately she died on the 22nd December. It was also my partners Aunty Irene who I heard from the other day. Rick was away for the weekend and was planning his birthday family get together (about 2 and half hours away) I had a very strong message from her to ‘tell Rick I will be at his birthday’ I text him the message and he rang me back. Turns out, earlier that morning him and his daughter had a conversation about if Aunty Irene was going to be at the party or not (she had got the names mixed up with an aunty who is still living) he had said ‘no it will be a bit difficult seen as she isn’t alive anymore’. She must have been listening and thought to herself ‘I most definitely will be at that party and wouldn't miss it for the world' Being able to pass messages on like this and to let people know that their loved ones are always with them is one of the best feelings in the world! Since hearing my spirit guide Anastasia for the first time, lots of strange but amazing things have happened. The feeling of someone being in the room with me, messages in my head, visions, recurring numbers, seeing things out of the corner of my eye, ringing in my ears when spirit is near, things going missing then quickly reappearing and much more. At first it was a time where I thought I was losing my mind with all of the voices I was hearing, I have even lost friends through them thinking I was going mad but the people who truly matter to me have embraced my Spirituality and supported me all the way! I am still extremely new to all of this communicating with the other side stuff, which is why I do not offer it as part of Bliss Healing, although it really does have its advantages when carrying out treatments such as Reiki. I remember one client from when I first started out as a Holistic Therapist where I was guided towards his stomach. After the session I asked him if he had been experiencing any problems in that area, to which he replied he'd been having stomach pains for the last 3 days. I am truly honoured to have been given such an amazing gift, and being able to pass messages on between the land of the living and the land of spirit is now a huge part of me that I never want to lose!.
Thank you for reading, Love Sam xx This was one of my blogs that I wrote a long time before I was properly Spiritually Awakened, enjoy x I am not religious and I know that some people think that you have to be religious to believe in all kinds of spiritual mysteries that haven’t been explained…yet. But this isn’t the case. I am actually a very strong Atheist but I have a very open mind when it comes to the possibilities of things that work with scientific theory and evidence. Someone telling me that events happened for 100% sure because it says so in a book doesn’t quite cut it for me. Anyway, I wont carry on about my thoughts on religion because I will never shut up. This review is about my recent experience with Healing Crystals. Is It Really All That Far Fetched, Think About It…Before I talk more about the Crystals, I will just explain about some things that I DO believe in and why. I only consider and believe in things that have a sufficient amount of hard evidence or reasonable scientific possibilities to back it up. So the first thing I do believe in is that we all have psychic ability in us. The myth is that the human only uses 10% of their brains so just imagine what the rest of it is capable of (well you probably wont be able to because we are only using a ridiculously small amount to even begin to consider the possibilities). Think about when you have the feeling that the phone is going to ring or that something is going to happen. This doesn’t mean I believe in the cheap, phoney, money grabbing people at the fairground or at the seaside with a crystal ball predicting the future but when you think realistically, our brains must be capable of amazing things, picking up on senses, feelings, energy that we just don’t realise exist but fortunately I believe that some lucky people do get to experience a little more than the rest of us. The second is the possibility of spirits/ghosts/apparition’s , (whatever you want to call them) I don’t believe that they are dead people that have come back to haunt us but I do believe in the more scientific reasons. It is said that even Albert Einstein had a scientific way of explaining how this could happen. I found this whilst doing some research… ‘The answer is very simple, and not at all mysterious. After a person dies, the energy in his or her body goes where all organisms’ energy goes after death: into the environment. When a human dies, the energy stored in his or her body is released in the form of heat, and transferred into the animals that eat us (i.e., wild animals if we are left unburied, or worms and bacteria if we are interred), and the plants that absorb us. If we are cremated, the energy in our bodies is released in the form of heat and light’ Basically energy doesn’t just disappear, it stays around and apparently absolutely EVERYTHING gives off energy. Everything And Anything Gives Off Energy…So if it is true that everything gives off energy, then so must things such as stones/rock and crystals. I wasn’t aware of Crystal Healing until recently when my dad came across a ‘Healer’ purely by accident, she spoke to him about issues he had and she wrote down what Crystals would help him with his problems, not physically but mentally (I myself am not sure how these crystals could work with physical issues but I wont rule it out until I try it) Now my dad is one of the biggest sceptics going when it comes to things like this but he went ahead and got these Crystals (baring in mind he wasn’t buying them from her, wasn’t having a healing or reading session from her, she was not benefiting from this in any way) he began to keep these crystals with him in a pouch in his pocket and started to have different outlooks on things, his anxiety of being in crowds calmed down, he said that for some reason when he has these crystals with him he feels more at ease. So at this point I said no way, it will just be psychological but we came to the conclusion that even if it was just that then it was having a good effect so might as well just go with it. But then it got me thinking that if absolutely everything and anything gives off energy then there could actually be some truth in this? How Do They Work? Apparently the energy that comes from Crystals, which is made up of its structure and chemical make up work with the energy that your body creates through vibrations. Obviously we give off both positive and negative energy, so depending on what Crystal you are using, the energy from both the Crystal and your body work together to balance things out and to alter certain emotions and feelings. These are not things that can change the future or perform miracles but all of this energy around can work together and I honestly believe that this method has the scientifically and very realistic possibility of making a difference to the way we think and the way we are. Give It A Go…As my dad had actually found some truth to all of this I decided to check it out. I am not going to go into any detail about what I need help with and what I am looking to balance out in my life because we all have our own issues and experiences to deal with, Therefore it is a very personal thing. So I had a look on Twitter and reached out to a lady called Rachael via her page ‘Natural Healing Shop’ I spoke to her and explained about what happened with my dad and my issues and if she would be able to help me. We spoke in depth about things and she explained how Crystal Healing works. After our chat I told her that I would like to give it a go and to write up a review. First of all she asked me to go onto her website and pick a crystal that I was drawn to. I was a bit sceptical about whether I would actually be drawn to something but I surprisingly was. . I have a thing about Angels, as I said I am not religious but I do like to think that if by any chance at all that there is a spirit/energy looking out for me then it would be my grandmother ‘Rose’ who I was extremely close to and died when I was 18. She also liked the song by ‘Abba, I Have A Dream, which includes the lyrics ‘I Believe In Angels’ I also gave my daughter the middle name of Rose in her memory. Now this little angel that I was drawn to before I even saw the name of it is crafted out of ‘ROSE Quartz Crystal (spooky stuff eh) Quartz Crystal is known as the Master Stone because of its strong abilities that work in a slightly different way to the other Crystals. Again I am not going to go into this because all of the information is on Rachael’s website which I will put a link to at the end of this review. There are descriptions of each Crystals properties on there and how it works with your body energy to heal. It really is very interesting and will be purchasing more Crystals. I really cant explain how this little Angel makes a difference to me because you probably wont believe it. But all I can say is, please do not knock it until you have tried it! The reason why I love this so much is because as far fetched as it all sounds, it actually makes a lot of sense scientifically. If you are interested and intrigued by all of this then I would suggest getting in touch with Rachael and just have a chat. She also offers lots of services including healing sessions which I have also experienced by her. I wont go into that as I have only had one session which was also a very surprisingly, moving experience that I will definitely be doing again.
Thank you for reading, Love Sam xx This was a blog that I had written before I went through my Spiritual Journey so explains about what Natural Healing Sessions can do. I wrote this before I fully believed it was possible, enjoy x Before I knew that I could give others healing sessions, I actually experienced one for myself from a lovely lady I know called Rachael who owns her own business called ‘Natural Healing Shop’ she seems to have this warm, kind hearted sense about her even though we have never met. She has been practising spiritual healing for over 20 years in the Uk, Ireland and India. Her website offers healing crystals, healing sessions and even runs workshops to teach people how to develop their own healing abilities and to deepen their spiritual understanding. So what exactly is it meant to do?.A healing session is said to help heal the mind, body and spirit. Rachael works with your energies to remove stress and restore balance. Healing claims to be able to assist with both physical issues such as migraines, headaches and also with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. In all honesty I cant understand how a distant healing session can work on a physical problem, but of course I cant say that it doesn’t work as I haven’t had healing for physical issues. My experience can only be described as weird, as in it made me feel weird and weird things happened. I spoke to Rachael first off and explained a few issues that I was dealing with at the time. After that she asked me to lie down in a comfortable, quiet place, relax and we would talk about everything afterwards. I chose my bedroom. I closed my curtains and got comfortable on my bed and relaxed as best as I could. (I am rarely relaxed and always very tense).I laid on my side and waited. First of all everything seemed quite surreal, somehow different and intense, then my body felt heavy and all of a sudden I was crying. I’m not talking about a few tears, I was really sobbing. I curled up in a tight ball, felt very alone and a deep sadness came over me. I couldn’t figure out exactly what I was so sad about but the feeling was there. A little time after, I started to feel like there was someone in the room with me, the presence felt re assuring and comfortable like someone was giving me a massive hug whilst I cried. After the crying eased off I seemed to feel lighter, like a pressure had been lifted. Then I just felt tired, so tired that I asked if I could talk to Rachael a little later as I felt exhausted. I went to sleep and when I woke up everything seemed odd. My body was aching and I felt confused wondering if i had imagined it all. I spoke with her shortly after I had woken up and explained the feelings that I’d had. She said that my body would be aching because of the pressure and the worries lifting from me. It is so difficult to explain exactly how it all felt but I feel that something definitely happened to me that day. I persuaded my partner to have a session with Rachael not so long back as he was dealing with some issues of his own, so thought it would be worth a try. I was also interested to see if he experienced anything, or if maybe I had indeed imagined the whole thing. When he came downstairs into the living room an hour later looking very spooked, shaken and unable to explain how he felt, I knew it wasn’t my imagination. I have absolutely no idea how this healing gift of Rachael’s works but I can say that it definitely does something. I am looking to book some more sessions with her soon as I find it extremely interesting and would even like to do one of her workshops to see if I can tap into my own healing abilities. You can find more information about Rachel and the ‘Natural Healing Shop at http://naturalhealingshop.co.uk/ .As I said, this is an extremely complicated subject to write about so please please visit the website to find out more and contact her with any questions you may have.
If you have never heard of anything like this before then you may be reading this thinking I have gone completely nuts, but If you are an open minded kind of person like myself and decide to give it a shot, then I would love to hear your experiences of your healing session with Rachael. Thank you for reading Love Sam xx Reiki pronounced ray-key, is a Japanese form of energy healing dating back to the 1800’s and came about thanks to a man called Dr. Mikao Usui. Rei means Universal and Ki means Life Force Energy. It involves a Reiki Practitioner/Master channelling energy through them and into the client by placing their hands either just above or laying lightly on different parts of the body. Personally I like the hands on method because I feel like my connection with the client is stronger that way, but this is not necessary because Reiki can be sent anywhere and to anything! So a little more on Dr Usui.. Universal Life Force Energy has been around since day 0 because it is a natural thing, but Dr Usui did have something to do with helping the word and the practise get out there. Usui was a man who studied medicine, psychology and theology. He travelled a lot and went down many career paths until he found his true calling and lived in a Monastery as a Monk. During this time he went on a spiritual journey of self discovery which lead him to a place near Mt Kurama. It was here that symbol images were shown to him during deep meditation (or unconsciousness, no one is quite sure about this detail) and these symbols are still used now by Reiki Practitioners/Masters during their healing sessions. I am not going to go through all of the ins and outs of the Reiki symbols and how we use them because it all gets a little complicated, but to cut a long story short when you are practising, learning and being attuned to Reiki then these symbols are extremely important. At Practitioner level there are three main symbols and at Master level there is one more. I have been attuned to all levels and Master so you can be sure with me you are getting a high level of healing. Now I could honestly go on and on about the history of Reiki because there is just so much, it really has a wonderful history to it but I know that the main thing people want to know about is what does it actually do? So as I said before Reiki is a form of energy healing. The healing energy is channeled through the Practitioner into the client. There have been quite a few different forms of Reiki come up over the years and one of them is the Angelic kind. I have been attuned to Master level in both Usui and Angelic so tend to mix the two together. I start off at the head and move around the body letting my intuition tell me where I need to place my hands as well as focusing on the main Chakras. I also may just stay at the clients head for the whole session. (but just because I am sat there for 30-60 minutes, it doesn't mean that I'm not doing anything) Being a Spiritual Medium I also tend to get a lot of help from my guides and my clients guides who also let me know where I need to be healing and what blockages are going on through the body. Usually I will be given a colour of a chakra that is blocked and a message from the clients guides. Whilst healing crystals do raise the energy vibration it is not necessary to use them and it is completely upto the client whether we add them or not. When Healing Crystals are used during a Reiki session, I place each of the Chakra Crystals on each Chakra place along the body. I have a specific large set for this purpose which I absolutely adore! Reiki is a beautiful, natural way of healing that has been passed down through so many years. It seems to be gaining more popularity due to people seeing the results of it working and that even doctors are starting to see the benefits and recommending Holistic Therapies to their patients. Even just by trying to live by the 5 Reiki principles there is a chance you can change your whole mindset on life. By saying these 5 principles to yourself in a morning, you are much more likely to have a better day. It is about taking one day at a time and after a bit of practice, you will start to think in a much more positive way every single day. It is about living in the NOW, not letting the worries of yesterday roll into today, or the worries about tomorrow rolling into today which is how we tend to live our lives. Reiki isn't just about the treatment, it is a way of living and it can be enjoyed by everyone!
Like all Holistic Therapies the benefits are endless. Reiki at Bliss is a wonderful way to promote natural healing around the body and to relax the mind, body and soul together. So here are the benefits... Bliss Holistic Healing xx Traditional Reflexology is a treatment which involves a Therapist applying pressure to different parts of the hands or feet with their hands, but mostly their thumbs. It is based on the idea that the different zones/parts on a foot or hand connect and correspond with different body parts and organs. Reflexology is known as a Chinese treatment but actually dates back over 5,000 years ago to the Egyptians and Indians. An ear, nose and throat surgeon named Dr William Fitzgerald was the founder of Zone Therapy, which is what it was called before Reflexology. The modern version that we use today was brought to light by a physiotherapist called Eunice Ingham and it is her who developed the map of the entire body on the feet which all Reflexologists use to this day. Eunice found that by using acupressure or massage techniques on the different zones of the foot, there were positive effects to their corresponding body parts. Reflexology is practised by both medical and non medical practitioners because there has been so much study and research that has shown positive results. There have been many variations of Reflexology over the years but I practice the Thai version. The reason why I love their method is because the whole of the foot is worked upon by using pressure with a massage stick. Massage with the hands and thumbs is then incorporated into the routine. In my opinion by using the stick instead of just the thumbs you are able to add pressure, pinpoint zones, work on the foot in depth by using different techniques and to be honest I find it much more enjoyable and it offers something different to normal Reflexology. I also offer the option of adding hot stones to the treatment which allows for an even deeper massage. So the benefits of Reflexology are Relaxation Increased blood circulation Improved nerve function Cleanses and detoxifies the body Eases headaches and migraines Balances energy and the Chakras Reduces stress and tension Promotes muscle relaxation Calms and soothes Provides comfort Gives pain relief and so much more... Like all Holistic Therapies the benefits are endless. Thai Reflexology at Bliss is a wonderful way to promote natural healing around the body and to relax the mind, body and soul together. Unfortunately we may be unable to offer Thai Reflexology to people who suffer severely with the following.. (please contact us though for more information as we still may be able to offer treatment)
contagious skin disease and infections bruising and inflammation broken bones Eczema Psoriasis Athletes Foot Varicose Veins severe pain internal bleeding open wounds sunburn Epilepsy Schizophrenia severe depression and anxiety severe personality disorder Osteoporosis heart conditions operations in the past 6 months Cancer trapped nerves blood clots undiagnosed lumps and bumps pregnancy within the third trimesters Bliss Holistic Healing xx Meditation and Mindfulness are two different things but since they both involve calming the mind I am going to put them in one blog. They are both extremely difficult to master but once you get the hang of it, you will be glad you took time out to experience it. I will start with some information about Meditation. It has been around for thousands of years and in Latin means 'to ponder'. Meditation first started as a religious practise and to help with Spiritual growth, but now it is also used for the purpose of relaxation, stress reduction and to improve self awareness and improvement. There is still this stigma attached to it that to practise Meditation you have to be a hippy and far out there, but this is really not the case. Meditation is difficult to practice due to the way we live our lives in the present day. Our lives are so full of stress, pressure and noise that we just don't know how to calm our minds. Technology has played a huge part in us not being able to still the mind and be in a state of peace, because we are never off it! We are constantly on our phones, watching TV, listening to music, playing games etc that our brain just doesn't get the time to stop! Right up until we go to sleep we are on our phones. Texting, updating Social Media, browsing the internet, watching videos and people don't realise how unhealthy it is. I am not saying that technology is the devil or anything like that because I use it every single day, but what I am saying is that we need to take time out every now and then to let ourselves just stop and breathe! It is thanks to Meditation that I have been able to open up my Mediumship, Once I had mastered how to clear my mind, I was able to hear and sense things that I couldn't before. I had taken myself back to basics, where there was no noise around and nothing taking up my thoughts. By calming the mind, I was able to let other things in and to be more aware. This wasn't my intention when I first started to Meditate, it just kind of happened. I am not saying that by meditating you will open up all kinds of gifts you didn't know you had, but it will open up your mind to sense things and notice more of what is going on around you. By giving yourself time out from technology, noise and stress you are having the chance to let go of tension and reflect on what is important in life instead of the worries that are going around your head. Meditation is not about sitting cross legged on the floor like a Buddha (although a lot of people do find this helpful) it is about finding somewhere that is calm, free from noise and comfortable. At first it is extremely hard to stop thoughts coming into your head such as 'what am I going to make for tea?' did I lock the door? why did I say that today? but this is normal. It takes a lot of practice which is why I offer coaching so that you can do it with someone else who is already able to calm the mind and not judge you for wanting to learn how to Meditate. With me you do not need to worry about feeling or looking silly because I will be doing the exact same thing as you! So what about Mindfulness? Well it is extremely similar but whilst Meditation is the awareness of NOTHING, Mindfulness is the awareness of SOMETHING. Mindfulness can be done anywhere at anytime, it just means that you are living in the moment, in the here and now, not re living yesterday and not time travelling to tomorrow. It is about paying attention and noticing what is happening in the present rather than letting your thoughts run wild and lose concentration on what you are supposed to be doing By practising Mindfulness you will be able to tune into your surroundings and notice things that you didn't before. You will start to appreciate life more and be thankful for the things and people around you. You will start to realise that yesterday and tomorrow don't matter because its the HERE and NOW that does. So here are the benefits of practising both Meditation and Mindfulness Clears the mind Provides relaxation Helps you to appreciate life more Reduces anxiety and depression Improves cognition Lowers stress Helps with Spiritual growth Helps you to sleep better Puts things and life into perspective Relieves pain Better breathing Boosts energy Controls anger Balances the Chakras and soooooooo much more!! Schizophrenia severe depression and anxiety Psychosis severe personality disorder heart problems Epilepsy Angina high blood pressure severe PTSD Bliss Holistic Healing xx Our subconscious mind is often compared to as a computer hard drive where all of our memories, habits and feelings are stored. Hypnotherapy is used to lead a person into a deep guided state of relaxation, also known as trance which enables a persons subconscious to be more open to suggestions, ideas and goals. This particular type of therapy is able to help people break habits such as smoking or over eating. It can also help with panic attacks, anxiety and depression. The science behind Hypnotherapy has been documented since the 18th Century, before that it was put down to magic and sorcery which is most certainly is not. It is very much like guided meditation where you are coaxed by the Hypnotherapist into a deep relaxation state. It is at this point where your subconscious is wide open to new ideas and suggestions. It is almost like doing a bit of re wiring to get things booted up and working again. Our sub-conscious takes up the majority of our brain and it is where all of our emotions, feelings, memories, habits, addictions etc are stored, and is this bit that needs a little bit of tweaking every now and again. Hypnotherapy is the perfect therapy to do this because it gets you so relaxed in trance that you are open to new ideas. There is no magic behind it, it is just extremely clever. Hypnotherapy speaks to your sub conscious mind and sometimes you might not even realise what is being said. But this is ok because your sub conscious is taking it all in for you. The other form of Hypnotherapy is Hypnosis. This is the version used for entertainment and is often referred to as stage Hypnosis. It is just as real as Hypnotherapy but is used for entertainment only. I have to say that this type has not really appealed to me because the main purpose of me practising Hypnotherapy is to make a difference to someones life and change it for the better, not to have a good laugh at their expense. So what is Hypnotherapy used for and what are the benefits? It can be used to break life long bad habits and behaviors, it is used to tackle phobias, anxiety, depression, trauma and stress. There are types of Hypnotherapy for everything. One of the most popular is the Gastric Band Operation that is done on a virtual level through to your sub-conscious. It takes you through the whole operation in your mind whilst you are in a deep state of relaxation (trance) this has proven to be effective in helping people to lose weight without having to go under the knife for real. There are so many other types of Hypnotherapy to use for all different problems and issues. By using the power of the mind, you are able to make a difference to the body. Of course at Bliss I prefer to add Spiritual practice to my treatments so that I can offer something a bit different. I ask my clients to focus on a crystal pendulum and the sound of my voice to lead them into a deep state of relaxation. Healing crystals are also placed on the body in order to balance the whole body and mind as we go further into Hypnotherapy. Like all Holistic Therapies the benefits are endless. Hypnotherapy at Bliss is a wonderful way to promote natural healing around the body and to relax the mind, body and soul together. Unfortunately we may be unable to offer Hypnotherapy to people who suffer severely with the following.. (please contact us though for more information as we still may be able to offer treatment)

Even though Essential Oils can be used internally, I am not trained in this area as it is a very complicated one, so I would never recommend or be able to give advice out regarding this method.
